Our top hotel recommendation for 2009 is Al Nada Resort, 23 km south of Marsa Alam airport.  It has 150 large well equipped rooms and a spectacular reception with semi-panoramic Nubian murals.  Although officially four star, the food, service and room facilities are all undoubtedly five star and you couldn't find a more relaxing spot anywhere than by the crescent shaped swimming pool looking out over the beach towards the coral reef and the hotel's own private marina jetty recently favoured by occasional dolphin visits. 

The hotel also has a meticulously clean, spacious and well managed health club.  The staff are all highly attentive, friendly and professional.  If you want to spoil yourself try the Cleopatra beauty and massage programme.    For two hours you really will think you are Queen Cleopatra.  And it works.  I left feeling refreshed and  years younger and my skin had a vibrant shine.  

Not suprisingly the health club draws many visitors from neighbouring hotels and also some famous Egyptians from Cairo 700km away !  If you want to visit just ask your hotel's limousine company to take you to the Nada Resort or hop on any passing service taxi (the white peugeot estate cars) heading down the coast.
