BEACH AND SEA - generally positive
"Coraya Beach has a walk-in sea beach on a sheltered bay so you can snorkel out to the immaculate reef - at least as far as you feel confident. I'm not a very confident swimmer and I rejected all the hotels with pier only access to the sea when I was researching which hotel to book."
( TripAdvisor.com 14 May 2012 )
"Coraya is the only hotel in the bay with direct (walk-in) access to the sea."
( HolidayCheck.com Wolfgang March 2012 )
"The underwater world was very beautiful and the reef on both sides still in very good condition. Among the seaweed in the middle we met a turtle. However, we only had one day with a perfect underwater view, as on the other days there was a strong wind which swirled up particles to make the water very misty."
( HolidayCheck.com Malte March 2012 )
"If easy access to the sea is a priority this hotel is the best located within the bay. The water was warm and free of jelly fish – a first in my visits to the Red Sea. A wide range of tropical fish can be seen within the shallow water, the best time being at low tide when the breeze is also at its lowest. There is also a long jetty into the bay for snorkelers to use. "

ON THE STAFF - mostly favourable -
"Outstanding staff.....waiter service on the beach and bar staff who appear with your "usual" order before you've settled in your seat.....Animation team worked so hard, as did all the other staff.....One lovely gardener threw me up a posy of flowers every morning."
( TripAdvisor.com 14 May 2012 )
"The staff are very, very friendly and requests are dealt with very quickly. We will definitely come back."
( HolidayCheck.com Birgit February 2012 )
"We probably made the most use of the waiters on the beach to keep us topped up with non alcholic drinks all day, what a job in that heat, but they were always smiling and very cheerful and again worth the tips."
( TripAdvisor 16 October 2008 )
"The standard of cleanliness of the room and in fact of the whole complex is excellent. There are plenty of room towels, even a dressing gown is provided. Clean beach towels are brought to your room each evening and these can be exchanged during the day if required."
( TripAdvisor 5 October 2008 )
"The staff in the hotel are brilliant they can't do enough for you, everybody was very friendly and not at all pushy. The rooms were immaculate and kept that way by the wonderful housekeeper we had towel sculptures on the bed every day and recieved little gifts which I wont say any more about as I don't want to spoil it for you."
( TripAdvisor 3 September 2008 )
"We had a housekeeper who was absoulutely brilliant, the pool guys were great putting our towels out for us. Our waiter was so friendly that my son would not leave until he had a photo taken with him. "

FOOD - reports mostly positive
"The best selection of foods in a buffet restaurant I have ever seen."
( TripAdvisor.com 14 May 2012 )
"The buffet is gorgeous and every day there is a new selection of specialities. We particularly liked the grilll on the terrace with seafood, quails and speciality steaks and (being German) we were happy to find at breakfast food for most cultural tastes including (for us) freshly baked brown bread and bircher muesli."
( HolidayCheck.com Malte March 2012 )
"The main restaurant was very spacious and the staff attentive and friendly, without being too familiar. The good was good with ample choice, although, depending on the time you went for dinner, the queuing for the hot food was rather cramped, as the majority of containers were along one wall and close together, which meant that if you were polite and queued in line, you ended up waiting ages."
( TripAdvisor.com 23 March 2012 )
"The food was tasty and every evening there was a different themed buffet plus a barbecue at the grill station."
( HolidayCheck.com Jurgen February 2012 )
"We loved the main restaurant buffets. There was a very good selection for breakfast and dinner with quick (3-4 minutes) cooking stations. These would cook omelets and pancakes in the mornings and pasta or meat in the evenings. For breakfast it was also possible to have three fresh juices prepared as well as good tea and coffee. It was lovely to sit with a latte macchiato in the hand and look out at the bay from the restaurant terrace."
( HolidayCheck.com Romy February 2012 )
"No complaints about the quality of the basic food and the quantity but the presentation and variety lacked immagination. There were some good dishes but these tended to be the exception not the rule. The soups were bland and the salads tended to be various mixes of the same ingredients."
( TripAdvisor 5 October 2008 )
"We enjoyed the food in the buffet restaurant, there is a big variety for breakfast, lunch and dinner - you could eat something different every day. However, the Al la Carte is by far and away the best option as the steak and sea bass is second to none"
( TripAdvisor 26 September 2008 )
"The buffet always had a wonderful choice and many dishes were made while you watched. The speciality restaurant, Fayrouz, was also great. Fantastic Sea Bass, the best I have ever tasted. Would love to know the key to getting it so crisp"
( TripAdvisor 14 September 2008 )
ROOMS - Guests happy
"Tidy and clean rooms very well tended by the room boys and the beds very comfortable."
( TripAdvisor.com 10 May 2012 )
"Size about 40 square metres with a separate dressing room area, terrace with a view of the sea, stylishly decorated in soft colours.....Coffee machine, good minibar and everything very well maintained."
( HolidayCheck.com Silvia February 2012 )
"The balcony overlooked the beach which was beautiful. The pictures of the rooms on the website do not do them justice. The room was beautifully decorated with flower petals and every day we had a different towel sculpture."
( TripAdvisor 10 August 2008 )
OVERALL - visitors generally very happy
"Wouldn't hesitate to return in a flash !!"
( TripAdvisor.com 1 May 2012 )
"We have been eleven times to Egypt and tried many hotel chains - Marriott, Sheraton, Steigenberger, Hilton, Albatros etc but based on our experience this hotel is the best !"
( HolidayCheck.com Ludmila march 2012 )
"We are definitely coming again. Many thanks and big compliments to all."
( HolidayCheck.com Torsten February 2012 )
"We would say this is one of the best, if not THE best holidays we have been on and certainly very good value for money if you go all inclusive"
( TripAdvisor 26 September 2008 )
"The holiday was worth every penny and we are planning to return for my 30th. If you are consdiering going to Marsa Alam then Coraya Beach would be the ideal place to stay."
