Guest Reviews - on Holiday-Truth and Trip Advisor.

On the staff - top notch. Very few complaints and many compliments.

"All the staff were very helpful and friendly . They responded quickly to any requests . For example, our fridge was not working when we arrived but within a couple minutes a new one was fitted. "
( TripAdvisor.com 28 August 2008 )

"The one thing that really struck us more than anything else was how happy the staff were to help - I'd read the reviews that said this but I really was amazed, nothing is too much trouble for them."
( TripAdvisor 28 June 2008 )

"The cleaning staff were amazing, my husband told them i owned my own cleaning company back home and they went into overdrive, the displays we had every day on the bed of towels in the shape of peacocks swans crocs and even a model of me reading my book on the balcony! were amazing i would certainly give them a job with me if they lived over here, if only you could find staff over here as conscientious Britain would be in a better shape."
( TripAdvisor.com 25 July 2008 )

"The Animation Team worked very long hours but were always smiling and their knowledge of the various languages was first class. "
( TripAdvisor 31 May 2008 )

On the beach - mixed

"The most disappointing aspect of this hotel was probably the beach.  The water was very very shallow and we were not allowed to go further into the deeper area.  Hotel workers whistled to come back in.  The sand was also not great, muddy feeling in the wet area and stoney in patches.  There was a ten minute bus ride to a good beach with deeper water and sea turtles and a good reef."
( Holiday-Truth.com June 2007 )

On the rooms - generally favourable

"The rooms are spacious and spotlessly clean, each with their own balcony and mosquito net across the window so you can sleep with the patio door open.......We regularly got towel sculptures left on the bed created by the cleaner but they were so good we didn't want to move them to go to bed."
( Holiday-Truth.com April 2007 )

On the food
- mixed

"The food is very poor, and I will pretty much eat anything and like to try food from all over the world. The food at the Calimera is tepid at best, over cooked and dry...."
( TripAdvisor.com 14 September 2008 )

"The food in the restaurant was very good. Always a huge variety. We always went about seven and you could sit where you liked with no problems. The restaurant staff all seemed friendly. You could sit outside if you wanted."
( TripAdvisor.com 1 September 2008 )

"The food at breakfast was good but in the whole week we never found a cleared table to sit at and became quite expert at finding our own cutlery!   As a result of the chaos in the restaurant,we ate mainly in the a la carte restaurants which were excellent and very cheap."
( TripAdvisor.com 18 July 2008 )

Diving Excursions - Highly appreciated

"We did the trip to Dolphin House with Thomas cook.We saw dolphins, lots of dolphins. Unfortunately they were in deep water so we were unable to swim with them.Other people we spoke to at the hotel did swim wiyh them.Seems to be the luck of the draw.Dolphin House reef was very good anyway. You do get fed on the boat."
( TripAdvisor.com 1 September 2008 )

"We also went to the Dolphin House which was the most amazing experience of my life - we were lucky and swam with about 30 spinner dolphins! "
( TripAdvisor.com 28 June 2008 )

Desert Safari -  Also highly rated

"Then on the last evening we went quad-biking - probably best we did this on the last night or we would have gone every day, it was fantastic, but don't wear any clothes you don't want to get filthy, you will end up wearing half the desert, and it's worth the £5 for the headscarf!"
( TripAdvisor.com 28 June 2008 )
