You might be tempted by glossy brochure pictures to consider Badawia but I have to say that my own stay here over a year ago was NOT a happy one. I've not stayed there since but It's rating on TripAdvisor.com remains well below average (as of Autumn 2010).

and approximately 42km north of Marsa Alam town
Hotel facilities: Main (Badawia) , fish (IL Pescatore) and Italian (La Patisserie) restaurants, 24 hour Sahra Lobby Bar, 600 square metre garden, Children's (Kids) Club and playground, outdoor heated swimming pool and pool bar, diving centre, camel safaris, car parking, 24 hour internet cafe and open air beach disco every Thursday.

Secret Tip: If staying at the Badawia Resort you should try using the health club at the Al Nada resort just 500 metres down the road. It has an excellent reputation with frequent visits by Egyptian VIPs from Cairo.
