Last year rated as our top hotel and this year still as our number two for sheer indulgence and buffets which would have pleased even King Farouk. However, some recent guest reviews have been less upbeat.

On the rooms - mixed
"The room was nice, clean and the fridge was filled with softdrinks ( but the ) beds were so hard you could better sleep on the floor. The airconditioning unit was built in the time that Cleopatra was still alive. What a noise it made. Turning off was no option cause of the heat. "

On the Health Club - A scathing guest review on one masseur's technique is probably not representative of most guests' experiences as several made more favourable comments.
"He put so much oil on my back that I thought that his hands would land on the other side of the Red Sea. He ran like the TGV with his hands over my back while I came for a Relaxing-massage."

On the pool and beach - mixed
" The hotel has two jetty's which run either side of a coral reef which was fantastic for snorkelling. The amount of different types of fish was incredible."

On the staff - Most guests very appreciative
"We've just got back from one of the best holidays we've ever had, and that says alot when your taking 4 boys aged from 2 to 10!! Our youngest son has Coeliacs disease and the hotel staff we fantastic..........they accomodated his every need, they even cooked him his own food if the buffet selection wasn't to his liking."

"The staff were so friendly and nearly all of them spoke fluent English and they really made the holiday. One of our waiter's Ahmed the Assistant Captain was exceptional, he had a table waiting for us and our drinks ready almost every night and was always smiling even though he and all of them worked really hard. "

"As you come down to the gorgeous beach there are men waiting for you to set up your sunbeds for you... they place your towels on your beds for you and move the windbreaks to relieve (you) from the winds that this part of Egypt are quite susceptible to, but in the summer months this would be most welcomed."
